Hey 98 Navi I see that you have the HU I just bought installed in your ride. I have a 2000 Expedition and I will be installing it tommorrow but needed some additional help. I need to know what installation kit you used to install the unit. I know what needs to be removed in the dash and I bought a kit for the Explorer as it looks as if it may work. Any help is appreciated.

 

Sorry I am a few days behind, I don't get into this particular forum all that much anymore.

I didn't use an install kit. I design my own. For the nav, I had to use an air saw and remove about 1/4 inch of plastic from the upper housing to get a nice tight fit. Then I used some old brackets in combination with some stuff I had lying around to make it secure, but also make it easy for me to remove cause I change stuff on the navigator more than most people change pants.
