Overhead DVD monitors ???

How do you mount an overhead monitor in a 2005 Screw with a sunroof ?? Seems like there is little or no support above the headliner, even the dome light just bounces.

Thanks for any advise.

Overhead monitor

I just added an Alpine OH monitor on my '06 KR Screw with a sunroof. Just like you, I had reservations about putting an OH monitor behind the sunroof due to support concerns. However, my installer said this was no problem and completed the job to my satisfaction. I just couldn't use the trim piece that came with the OH monitor, but it still looks great. I even bought a 10' monitor and it seems pretty sturdy to me.

Does it bounce at all while traveling down the road ? I read somewhere that installers put a thin piece of wood above the headliner to screw into, just sounds like more unsupported weight to me.

I don't think this is going to be a do it yourself project.

>>>>I've got a 2002 SCrew with a sunroof. I had a DVD system installed with the overhead monitor and it's held up fine. It's mounted directly behind the sunroof. The trim of the monitor rests against the trim of the sunroof. The dealer recommended an aftermarket installer and it was installed before I picked up my truck. It's been up there four years without any problems. I too was concerned but it turns out my concerns were unfounded. Shouldn't be a problem for your truck, I'd just recommend gettin a professional to do it. The only time it would bounce is if the monitor is open and the sunroof is open. Which I don't do anymore. It probably wouldn't be a problem. I just don't want to stress the interior roof panel with wind vibration. So I don't open the sunroof when my daughter watches her DVDs. It doesn't bounce with the DVD monitor closed.
