Double din or 7" flip out??

I'm wondering which TV unit to get for my 04 Lariat.
A double din or a flip out.
The flip out has a bigger screen but the double din looks cleaner... of course
I'm mainly worried about how it will look but i'd like to have the bigger screen.
Can anyone with a flipout post there install so I can see how it looks with the install kit or is there anything else i can do? Maybe an EQ under neath it?
I want a clean install. Anyone got pics of theirs in the New F-150?

Well basically I want it to look as clean as possible.
The Install kits that leave the storage compartment do not look clean at all, IMO.
I guess i'll have to get the double-din and sacrifice some screen size.

I agree with you that the double din looks best. It just looks like it belongs there. 1/2" in screen size is not that big of a deal to me. I have had the single din and the Kenwood DDX7015. The Kenwood looks a lot better than a single din.

Get the D310/H701 combo, and go 5.1. Then get the alpine din size center speaker to fit in that storage compartment.

Do you have any pics of this setup. I checked out the components.

Pics of the D310 are in my gallery. I just got my H701 and haven't installed it yet. I'm installing it behind the dash. No pics yet. Still working on my new sub box and waiting to get new components (I'm getting rid of my Focal Utopias). Not quite sure what components I'm gonna get...I have a few in mind, but not sure. I'm going to try a 2 way active set-up with the H701.

Putting the subs and amps aside (I don't want to go THAT big...) How much did the audio/video cost you? D310/H701, center speaker, and front/rear door speakers...

I would expect to spend in the $1750-2000 range for the D310/H701. If you look hard and find a deal maybe in the $1,500 range. The center speaker from Alpine will run in the $150 range. The front/rear speakers are limited only by your budget. Could be $200 or $2,000.

Alpine has a brand new double din unit coming out this month that I plan on installing. It looks extremely clean, and I think it's worth sacrificing the .5" less screen space. Beyond that, the price and features are hard to beat.

Sorry i didn't respond to this quicker. I got my D310/H701 combo for $1250. Like dconder said...components are what you want to spend. Mine are a bit on the expensive side and can be had anywhere from $500-$1200 depending on where you get them.

BTW, I'm diggin' that W200 more and more everyday. I need to see it in person though. Never know, my D310 might go up for sale.

i chose double din, first, because it looks cleaner, second because with the touch screen, i felt it would be sturdier than a flip out, just my .02
