2002 Can I install a in dash navigation?

In my 2002 King Ranch I would love to install an in-dash navagation system that I could also run my sirius into. Is this a possibility? What is the most cost efficent way of doing this? Thanks in advance!

Not sure what the most "cost effective" way would be. But youy can easily add any regular din sized navigation unit by removing the factory head unit and installing the new one with navigation. I just install the Alpine D310 head unit, with it's navigation CPU under the rear seat. Very nice unit but was also pricey. You can add the backup camera, plug in your Serries oir XM radio and lots of other stuff.

No pics yet, I'll take a few shots tomorrow and post for you. Basically it looks just like any other aftermarket head unit, with a small storage slot above it to fill the extra space. When you turn it on, the 7" touch screen display comes out and up. It looks nice and doesn't block access to anything. Check this thread out with lots of pics of Alpine head units. Mine looks just like those, only difference is the display comes out if you turn on navigation.

I paid about 3g's for everything installed and re-wired. (includes head unit, Navigation, Tuner and backup camera). I had some re-wireing to do becuase I had two existing subs, and an amp. All of which was run off the speaker line outputs. The new HU has pre-amps outs, so they used them instead obviosly. Without the camera most places gave me a price of $2600 installed.

Pioneer AVIC-D1 in 2003 F-150

Yes, you can install a double-din unit like the Pioneer AVIC-D1 in your F150. I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew and I installed this unit in the dash. It took a little work, but I think it is really clean and looks great. You can check out the pictures at this page.

That looks awesome! I am hoping to do something just like that! Does your model play DVDs as well? How often do you need to upgrade the GPS info?

Thanks. I think it turned out well also. No, the AVIC-D1 will not play DVD's; only Navigation DVD-ROM. So far my navigation has been pretty well on par. You probably wouldn't have to update it but every two or three years unless you travel all the time and perfect navigation is critical. I don't see how it could ever be that much off though, because it takes more than five years or so to change the path of a road system.
