Just wondering if anyone using this Alpine unit?
I got tired of the Eclipse AVN2454, this thing is crap
I got this only for 6 months and lucky for me, I brought it through a Eclipse dealer and had been fixed three times now and still acts up
that is why I am tired of driving my truck without a radio
and the local audio place I got it from offer me a very good deal on an Alpine and I jump to it........

 

That is suprising, I have heard nothing but good things about the Eclipse units, 2454 and 5245. Eclipse has one of the best reps in the sound business.

 

That is surprising indeed. What kind of problems were you having. I have had nothing but Eclipse the last 4 or 5 years, until I bought the DDX7015. I still have an AV8132 Eclipse in my Pilot. I have never had an issue with any of them. And I have had probably 6 or 7 units.

 

I was not the only one who is returning these to the local shops
I shopped around trying to replace it for months......
The issues are from CD getting stuck, the screen will not come out or goes back in, and will not power up..........
The local audio shop was fed up with sending my deck back and just make a deal with me on a new alpine.
They told me that they have shops in other locations are having the same problems........

maybe we got a bad batch of them over here.............

 

I installed the Alpine IVA-D901 mutimedia head unit, Alpine TUA-T020 XM receiver, Alpine TUE-T011 TV tuner, Alpine TMX-R680a overhead monitor, Alpine RUX-4280 amp link, Alpine MRD-M301 amp, Probox underseat sub enclosure with 300w dual voice coil sub installed. All works and sounds awesome!!! I still have an Alpine PXA-510 Dolby Surround Sound Processor that I need to install and clean up some wiring but it is getting close!!!!! Not a whole lot of room for installs in a SCAB.

Was wondering how do you like the TUE-T011 tv tuner. I just bought an iva-d310 and was wondering if it's worth spending 100 on. Is it just like every other car tv tuner where to pic is just ok when stopped and then gets crappy when moving or does it actually stay ok when driving too. Thanx again.

 

If you use an amplified diversity antenna the flicker is at a minimum. Mine works pretty good actually. My drive back and forth to work is an hour each way. I usally catch the news/weather coming in and news going home.
