Kenwood DDX-7017 with headrest monitors

I have just finished installing the DDX-7017 and so far I love it.
I would like to add a set of headrest monitors and I had a question.
Will I be able to listen to radio on stereo speakers while kids can watch DVD in back with headsets? I know the Kenwood has dual zone but I wasn't sure if that meant the monitors would work with headsets (wired or wireless)
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

just wondering if you did this yourself or had someone install this double din?
because many local car audio shops are giving me a run around about installing a double din will not just fit, they will have to modify the openning and need to charge me an arm and a leg for the install

If you didn't buy the radio from crutchfield you can go to a local stereo shop or electronic store that sell radios. I have an '04 Screw and I used the

Metra install kit Part number #99-5807
cost about $35.00 and came with two differant styles 1- din style and 1- Double din plus all of the brackets and instructions you need to install the HU

I was getting that BS too...Im going to order this kit from Crutchfield if they sell it by itself.

Just ordered the install kit and harness from Crutchfield...cant wait to install. Is it hard to get to the stereo or should I just save time and have it done at a shop?

you might be having a problem with the double din becuase you have an 01 F-150, the 04-06 F-150's are made with a double din factory radio. That might be the problem. Just my guess.

they are vizualogic replacement headrests. They are 7" and come with either just screens or with DVD players built into the screens.
here is the website....... http://www.vizualogic.com/
as far as where I got them, I can not remember the website but I found it by searching. Crutchfield also sells them but as expected...prices are higher.
hope this helps.

pkonnik, those headrests look great. I assume you have the parchment leather interior. How does the leather and color match the seats?

they match exactly. I have an 04 and I have heard the 05/06 are a little different so i am not sure if they changed the color for the 05/06.
but as far as mine....looks 100% factory

Hmm, I do have the '05 screw so now I wonder. In your picture, the seats looks a shade "whiter" than mine. But I figured it was due to the camera flash. Thanks.

Yes, your kids can listen to the DVD thru the headsets while you listen to the stereo thru the speakers. I have the DDX-7017 also and I just put my headrest monitors in this past Sunday and I can listen to stereo while the headsets play the DVD audio. I figured one of us should answer your question since you've answered all of ours

This may sound like a dumb question, but am I to assume that you lost the steering wheel controls for your Kenwood setup? I would like to install something like this but I REALLY like the steering wheel controls. Any of these setup's allow you to connect them?

By the way, I will apologize right now for the HUGE signature. I have shrunk this pic down to acceptable size and for some reason the url is not getting transferred.
