Handheld GPS recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a good handheld GPS unit? Shopping around but
there are so many and the folks at the stores no nothing about what they are selling. "Uh....it gives you like the position of like where you are when your like outdoors and in the woods and stuff" this is an actual quote from a salesman at my local Sports Authority. He is incharge of the GPS section and even more scary, the shotgun section is located in the same place.

well i have a magellan meridian marine series GPS. It's a great unit, and I'm in the process of buying a mount for my F-150.

I recently got ahold of a program for it that does turn-by-turn directions for any address. I've also got a topographical program if you're a true outdoorsman. You can't go wrong with those two programs.

Email me if you have any questions as to it's functionality and/or anything else!

EDIT: kinda ironic, but my roommate is from Glendale, AZ...comes all the way from there to go to college in iowa

I have the Garmin eTrex Vista which I picked up from REI for $270. You can get it for much cheaper than that, but I am an advid supporter of REI.

Anyway, that link should show everything that it does. I am extremely happy with it, for it does everything I need it to do.
