i know that the preamp output voltage was increased on the 5435 (from 2v to 5v), but otherwise, some of the button placement changed and you get the updated nav disc...that's all that i've noticed, though.

That is what I noticed too but I thought maybe I missed something......hee......hee.......
thanks bro
The main reason I am asking this is because I am getting the Eclipse AVN2454 but the shop wants to sell me the newer one which is the eclipse AVN5435 for extra $350.00 more.......

I heard through other posts here that one of the major differences was they "fixed" the e-brake ground option that allows you to play dvds while in gear. The newer one supposedly has to be wired differently and isn't as simple as that to bypass.

they both have the same e-brake function...all you have to do is ground the wire that goes to the e-brake, and it works all of the time...but, the easiest way to fix that, without messing with the installation (voiding warranty), is to press the e-brake very slightly...just enough to hold (one click), and it will work perfectly, but it's not enough to make the actual brake make contact with the rotor.

The Volume control is now on the left side inside of the right. (its on the passanger side on the 2454). Pre-Volt is changed to 5v. Looks a tiny bit different.

well, just check with the shop and the e-brake thing is the same.......he told me just ground it and its fine
The e-brake problem is the new pioneer N2. You can not ground it to play the DVD while moving, I heard you have to install a switch and install another wire to loop the rear camera for it to work, but this of course voids any warranty you have and it does not last. The local shop gets return on them all the time with the Pioneer N2 for the loop wires and dvd stop working problem.............They are kinda tired of it and will stop doing that for the customers and will not tell their customers how to either but I know some of the installers and they told me about it since its illegal for them to do it in the first place.
I think I will save my $350.00 for some speakers and get the Eclipse AVN2454.

thanks guys for the help
