Overhead rail dvd system
Overhead rail dvd system
Has anyone seen the overhead dvd unit from Myron and Davis? They now have a 9 in. screen on model ADM190. If you search the web with that model # it brings you to a company called LightAV. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience good or bad with this company. I called and they said the unit was $699 and was powered by the wires in the dome light in front.
Looks like the same unit (with the exception of screen size) as the one at:

Hey dude i've been searching the forums for the same reason. My truck is on order and ford dont offer dvd in the supercab why i dont know but there seems to be enough room. Thats the only unit ive found. Let me know if the unit that goslow posted is the same because the screen size you posted is bigger. I'm also looking for now to attach to the rail. Let me know if you find something. THANKS
It is the same model but they do have one now with a 9 in. screen. I've read mixed reviews about these models and mixed reviews about the company and their service. I was kind of hoping Ford would come out with a 9 in. screen and a aftermarket wiring harness. I've heard alot of people saying the Ford model costs too much but it looks great and it comes with the headphones. Just personal preference I guess.
I just added the 7in. screen. I bought it from avlighting and had no issues. The 9in. may be a distraction in your rear view mirror and the screen will not be as clear as the 7in. the resolution is the same on both screens. It works well in the rail; however, it screws into the rail. They give you way to much cable, I did not cut it so had to bunch it up in the player and some in the dome light. I also had some issues with the wires. You will have to run the wire under the rail and it will be a tight fit. There are three wires and I went to the back dome light so not sure if this may be a problem. Dome light has four wires. I had to wire both positives form the unit to a yellow with green wire on the dome and the black from the unit to the black on the dome. The unit will be under constant power and you will have to make sure you turn it off on your own. I tried different combinations and had no luck to have it shut off with the key. Myron and Davis said you have to go to the fuss box and I was not going to take the time to get the wire there. It works great, looks great and my kids love it because it keeps running when the truck is not. Sorry so long.

hey capcotx i finnaly got my truck 3 month wait. I saw you talked about the wiring but still a little unclear so i figure instead of researching for hours can you tell me how you wired it. I need the colors from the unit to the dome and just curios how you spliced i see they have like a grid up there which all must be live for other accesseries. What about punching a hole in the liner and running the wire threw there? Thanks this may save me some fuses.
DVD on the rail
There are three wires on the unit red, yellow, and black. I went to the back dome light. Dome light has four wires going to it. Wire both positives form the unit (red/yellow)to the yellow with green wire (this is one wire color, yellow with green stipe)on the dome light and the black from the unit to the black on the dome. The unit will be under constant power and you will have to make sure you turn it off on your own. I tried different combinations and had no luck to have it shut off with the key. There is another wire that I can not remember color that has power;however, only when the dome light is on. Do not connect the unit to that wire, I did that the firat time. As for the hole in the head liner not sure, I ran it inside the rail you have to push up on the liner a push it in the top of the rail its a pain.
Thanks dude works like a charm. I also stuffed the wire in the unit and dome because there a center brace and leaves only about an inch infront of the unit to work with didnt want to cut to big but it would work.
