Pioneer Avic-N1

Im thinking of getting this item. I get this at cost because i work at best buy but i was wondering if anyone had/knows about it. I was really wondering if anyone had ne other suggestions of flip screens with navi/camera/dvd/mp3 and all the goodies this one had. Even at cost this unit will be very expensive after i get all of the components i need with it to do everything i want to do. So nething to save a few bucks would help.

Re: Pioneer Avic-N1

If you don't mind me asking...what is "cost" on the unit? The best price I could find on it was $1275. I descided to go with the DVD6600 instead. The AN1 would have been cool but I REALLY didnt need the navigation and being I got the 6600 for $500 cheaper I just couldn't justify it. As for the 6600 (its basicaly the same as the AN1 just no Navigation) its a very nice unit and I would deffiently recommend the Pioneer units! There are quite a few others on here with indash monitors and they are nice, but I really like the flip up monitor better myself.

Check out my system..."RamSS/T's Screw on 24s"

When i go to work tommorow i will run the sku # on employee discount. Ive herd some good discounts from car audio department. 1500$ units being 800 after employee discount. There is also something called emplaoyee accomidations. If Pioneer is on there i may be able to get it under cost. For xmass i could have gotten a 65" tv for 200$ on accomidations so ill check both and tell ya what i come up with. Thanks for the input.

I'm planning on installing an N1, but someone recently posted that a N2 has been announced, apparently with a new form of satellite that gives current road conditions and construction, based on your location... Wish I knew when they'd be available....

Well on the employee accomidation thing pioneer has removed themselves from the list so i can only get emplayee discount so ill probably get unit for like 1000-1200 but with all of the accessories that im going to be geting with it its going to be over 2.5k probably...camera/2 rear tv's that go with it and tv tuner..

Also going to change my speakers that i got in the truck ...atm ive got 2 12's taking up my whole back seat and i found a custom box that holds 2 thin 12's under the back seat. Audiobahn makes the high powered pro comp piston subs that i made a post on on the speaker page.

RamSS/T thanks for posting those pictures of where u mounted those amps ...i did it today and it worked perfectly. only problem was when i was done with everything i started the truck and started playing a cd to make sure everything was working since i moved everything around and i didnt tighten the remote wire down enough and it came out while there was current going through it. I think i took out my stock head unit it wont turn on nemore. I changed the fusese but still nothing ...the cd changer lets me load and unload disc's but it wont play them and i can only get the clock to work on the unit so i think its gone.
Gonna be a while with no sound untill i get up the money for the whole system.
