JD,
I was just thinking isn't your 01 the Off Road edition? If so doesn't that package already have a limited slip included in it? If so that unit on ebay is already in the truck.

Yes, you would be correct. I was wondering the same thing myself because I had the parts department look up the part number listed on that auction and they said it showed the same part number as on a regular 9.75 rear end. I was hoping it was more of a mechanical-type locker instead of a clutch-pack version.

This is what I would love to get, or something similar: HERE

Ya same here I would love to get one of those. But ya I would not get that one it is the same as the one you have already. But from what I have read it will get you out of 99% of the situations your in and a locker will help on occasion but not enough to justify the cost. (that was what was said to me) I personally think that I will do a locker when it comes time to get gears in the truck.

Exactly - for the cost of them - not worth it unless I could come across a good deal on a used one or something. I don't do enough off-roading anyways to really make it worth it. When I do the gears I could always put new clutch-packs in at the same time which would basically 'refresh' my current LS. Just figured if I already had it apart for gears that would be a good time to add a better locker but I think the price is going to keep me from doing so. I need to start with finding some gears first!

Ya I am thinking I am going to refresh the clutch packs when I do mine. Like you said it is a very costy part for an occasional off road endeavor. Ya the worst part is trying to find the reverse cuts for the front 8.8 ifs. But I am assuming you are going with 4.88s so you should be able to find the with relative ease.

just got back from cc...wanted the pioneer 5000, they had 5 yesterday but i forgot my debit card, went there today they were all gone...so they told me they had a 6000 and the display model, well they didn't and the display model was missing the faceplate...so i was pretty dissapointed and settled for the pioneer 4000 which i still think is a good looking model...also picked up a JH4510 mtx jack hammer sub and some polk audio db571 5x7 speakers

now to get my amp and some wiring and then hook it all up

Hey Ty check out what I found....

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pts/1042025791.html

If I had a license, I would probably take a trip down to KC and get those, but I'm still just gonna buy them through you.

I can't remember how much those are a tire but they seem like a pretty good price. And if I remember right Ty's price won't be to far from that probably about what you would spend in gas anyway. (maybe more I am going off a sheet that is over a year old so I am sure they have gone up since then).

Weshova that sucks man don't you love when you get told one thing on the phone and another when you show up.

Those tires are definitely a pretty good deal - wouldn't have to pay taxes or anything. Maybe you can bribe a friend to drive you?? And ask the guy if he would meet you half-way to make it not so long of a drive?

The lift kit is in a couple of boxes in the back seat of my truck right now. I'm guessing your dad will be by any minute now to pick it up! I even found the original warranty card and all the stickers that came with the kit that I never used on my truck.

Hey Thanks.

I haven't heard anything from him yet, usually he gets bored and calls me and talks about random bull**** and he hasn't done that yet so I don't know.

But thanks alot for everything and I never thought about meeting halfway.

Well, I guess the weather isn't going to be too horribly cold so I will be working on my truck tomorrow. If anyone is bored or wants to kill some time you are more than welcome to come out. Drop me a pm/email. I'll be posting some pictures tomorrow as well. Right now with the rear end lifted and the front end down it's pretty funny looking with that much of a rake. Hopefully tomorrow that will change.

Depending on how long it takes for me to finish up moving I would be willing to come help wrench if you needed some company. It is supposed to be pretty chilly and windy tomorrow from what I hear.

I'm going to be hunkered down in the garage tearing down my sea doo. Heaters going, radio blasting, beers being drank.

When it gets nice enough again, will get back to my audio install..
