Dekalb....but I'm going to be too busy replacing the engine on my truck the next couple weekends for a meet.

 

My GF's brother lives in Sycamore. Are you replacing the motor in the 04?? If so Why? And do you need help?

 

Yup, the '04. Since I bought it, it had the cam phaser tick, and the dealer (and others I talked to) said it wasn't a big deal. Couple weeks ago, it took a crap and started sounding like there were marbles in the cylinders. Dealer tore into the drivers side head, and says the cam was starved for oil, and tore up the bearing seats, and scored the camshaft. Warranty inspector came out (57K on truck with 70K warranty), and because the found some sludge in the engine, they are claiming abuse and lack of maintenance. Since I do my own oil changes, and don't have store receipts to prove it, Ford has decided to deny my warranty and stick me with an $8K engine replacement bill at the dealer. I decided to do it myself for less than $4K.

I would have gotten rid of the truck as-is, but I don't want to move up to a more expensive vehicle, too many other things are claiming my money lately (baby on the way in July). Plus the wholesaler was only offering $10K for it, and I owe $15K, and just put new tires and brakes on it the week before the engine took a dump.

I don't know yet if I will need help...I have several friends lined up if I need them, but I have no problems adding another to the list.

I dont care where! Hell, Cranehand you and I can cruise up to BWW if you want. I would be willing to cruise out to the TA on 20.....that is a good meeting place, After we meet we could take a nice cruise down "rollercoaster Rd."
