Well, I still like to think of myself as from MO... I moved to NW AR from Joplin about a year ago, but just can't seem to call myself an Arkansan... :(

Congratulations Missouri!
I've been seeing in the news lately that you finally got concealed carry weapon permits laws passed.

Isn't that where James-Younger gang was from? as in Frank and Jessie James.

mskid Oct 3, 2003 02:50 PM

James brothers

They did spend a lot of time in MO, not sure if they were natives though. In fact I think one of em 'retired' somewhere in NW Missouri.

They did just pass a conceal and carry law here. We'll see how it turns out.

Looks like Jessie was born in Clay County, Missouri. His first bank robbery was in Liberty:

And he hid out in the cave shown above... just like every other cave on the face of the earth...

LOL!

Sorry... little peeve of mine... Every last 'commercial cave' in the USA claims that Jesse James hid out in the cave to avoid getting captured. Total poop. Sure, I'm sure he bailed in a few for the night but, it's really gotten out of hand. I refused to tell that tidbit of information when I worked at Lost River Cave in Bowling Green, Kentucky as the Lead Interpretor. I told my other interpretors that they didn't have to tell it either..... unless they had a group that was VERY interested in historical stuff... which some were.... mainly about Native Americans in the valley and such though.
