I'm lovin Centre, and I'm well on my way to 2 B.S.'s with 2 minors: Physics and German Studies with minors in Computer Science and Math. It's busy as all hell, but it'll be worth it when I can have the house I want with a wonderful woman and a L parked in the driveway next to the wife's Cobra! (with Jaz in the garage, of course)

That's why I know! LOL

You just make sure and keep your hicks on your side of the river ... Lord knows we've already got plenty on this side!

Why do you think Kentucky is building two new bridges across the Ohio here in Louisville?!!?!?!? LOL!

Oh yeah, BTW, I believe we're on board to do all of the environmental work for that project.

I've heard about some of projects that had to deal with river sediment ... I believe it was WI DNR giving consultants hard times about 'elevated' levels of metals, even though they were on par with background levels.

I don't wanna hear about fish having high levels of PCBs. If hear one iotta about PCBs in the Ohio, I'm calling the news channels and sending them directly to you for answers!

The former owners of our house (a redneck dumba$$ mechanical engineer from KY, that we sent back) aimed the outside antennae at Louisville, so I get Louisville stations better than Indy stations!

You lucky thing. You get Louisville beamed into your house daily versus that Hoosier crap. I don't think that there are many up that way that are as lucky as you.

We haven't had much problems with sediment honestly with past river based projects (and besides, we all need some mercury and PCBs in our diet!)

I'm dealing with a sub to the US Army Corp of Engineers rebuilding the McAlpine Locks and Damn. We've done a BUNCH of work with them over the past months and, to date, it really hasn't been on the radar screen much. Heck, they're worried about sand inside a basement of an abandoned building that is going to have to be torn out because it's been in contact with Pb based paint. LMAO! The were concerned that the lead had leached into the sand. Did I mention that all the sand was VERY dry? We ran TCLP and, obviously, nothing came back. I guess they're planning on reusing the sand for sandboxes in the park or something. LOL! You have no idea what a 'stink' they made about that silly sand.... it got really out of control.

Hey Darrin!

The only good thing about getting Louisville stations is that I can watch some shows an hour earlier - thanks to you guys using daylight savings time. Oh by the way, what time is actually saved ... all you do is get up an hour earlier. Anyone can do that without screwing with the clocks.

OK, their are 2 good things - I can watch the Indy 500, too (blacked out in Indy)

That's pretty funny about the sand and lead paint. I guess no one expleained to them that chemsitry of water in this area is not condusive to dissolving lead.

You're welcome here anytime Griz. Even if you are down there within the grasp of the 'TIDE'.

I was happy to see them kick UT's butt this past weekend though. I just can't stand orange. Especailly after being down around Knoxville (Gatlinburg) all freaking last week... geesh, you've never seen so much orange.

Brad,
Thanks for the reply. I feel your pain about the Big Orange my friend. I did the ultimate no-no and went and married a native Tennessean. Yeah, that's right, it gets a little heated during football season. Kentucky has really shot their wad this season huh? At least you live close enough to the 'Ville to legally cheer for the Cards, who are actually pretty good. Anyway, did you ever make it over to Trailblazers in Lexington? They have a pretty good store--customer service could be better though. Well, my mean old wife from Tennessee needs the computer so I gotta go. One more question:

HOW LONG UNTIL BASKETBALL SEASON?
Take it easy

Brian,

I haven't made it over there as of yet... however; I'm supposed to be slated to do some work over that way this week so, I'll try to get by there to check it out.... where is it again?

I'm with you on UK. Geesh... so close so many times. They just can't get it over the hump and actually win a big game.

I'm ready for basketball too.... at least they show up and play typically.

I, loosely, call BG home. I went to school at WKU and lived there two years beyond college.

I'd love to relocate back to that area some day and, if the cards fall right, I will be back in the coming years.

Oddly, I had a management opportunity present itself down there (off of Campbell Ln) about 2 months ago... it just didn't pay what I felt it should pay and thus, I declined. Gotta love those 'office supply stores on Campbell Lane across from Walmart and SuperAmerica next to Barnes and Noble'.

That is just about as descriptive as I can be short of saying the name of the store.
