Window Tint in VA? What is the max you have?

I travel quite a bit back and forth from VA to NJ (30k/yr) and wanted to tint my XLT side windows to match my already tinted rear windows. What percentage are you using?

Legally the max is
50% front side window
35% back side window
(thats how much light that must get into the vehicle)

If you have an extended cab, that window does not count, so it could be blacked out.

I decided to forget it. I just came back last night, on the way down there were at least 6 PUs pulled over. I could not tell if they were tinted, but rather just not have the hassles.

If you go to a tint shop, they will show you the legal max. Clear glass sucks

I had 20% all the way around on my black Mustang GT years ago and never got even a warning for it! Got a few speeding tickets and they didn't even say anything then either! Even got a few speeding warnings and nothing then either!

Point is you can get away with anything if you're willing to press your luck. Sooner or later though you'll get popped if you don't have 4 leaf clovers growing out of your shoes.
