VA Beach vs OC, MD

Which do you guys prefer?

Consider VA for the first time but we have young kids who love the boardwalk and rides.

Thx for opinions.

Haven't been to Ocean City in a long time, almost 20 years. (Damn I'm getting old) but I like only a hop skip and jump from VA Beach. I guess it's great for tourists, but most locals don't like the beach during tourist season. There's a boardwalk here, and lots of little shops, attractions etc. I'd say it's worth the trip to say you've been here. There are all kinds of other things in the greater area to do, especially if you're into history.

VA Beach is ok.....but I like the Outer Banks more.....but the kids would probably be bored to death there. . and only been to Ocean City once about 3 years ago, so I really don't have an opinion on it. If you do choose to come here check out Ocean Breeze Water Park in Va Beach. It is pretty cool. Make sure you watch the kids in the water(Ocean) due to the Shark Attack here last year or the year before. I guess I am just paranoid due to having a small kid.
I really don't think we offer too many rides on the beach strip, but then again, I live here and hardly go to the beach.

I'm not a big beach person so the history end sounds appealing to me but it is only a 2 day trip. The biggest attraction for the kids for OC, MD is all the rides, go karts, etc. Thanks for the feedback guys.

What about Williamsburg? Busch Gardens (Blows Kings Dominion away), go karts, history, All kinds of stuff. And the crowds aren't as bad as the beach.

Ditto, BG is a really cool place. And Colonial Williamsburg is right there with it all. Tons of History.

Bush Gardens and Water Country USA both are great parks, got season passes! And Va beach is a good place, but most people I know love to go to the OB and drive on the sand.

OC is a much more kid friendly place IMO. Not to mention OC has Assateague Island where you can take your truck down the beach and show all the kids the wild horses.

Deflate your tire to about 20 psi and you should be fine. Stay in the tracks that others have laid down too. But bring a tow strap just in case!! The only trucks i've seen stuck down on OBX are the people who:
1. Don't know how to engage the 4wd
2. Don't have 4wd
3. Didn't air down
