New (unexpected) Owner

The Old Saying, "If it sounds to goood to be true...." may be getting a bum rap...

Friday, I was getting a massage at lunch, wondering what I was going to do to get my daughter a new car. They had the radio on and it played this advertisement stating they were Giving Away a Free 2002 Mercury Cougar with every Blackwood Sold and no payments till 2003 for a limited time. Well I checked it out at noon on Saturday and got the last Blackwood they had in SouthWest Houston. People had driven from the Valley of South Texas (8 hours min) to Houston to take advantage of this deal. Well, as it turned out, I had missed the deadline on the "no payments" part but I traded my GMC "YUCK"ON XL and got my daughter the new cougar for her 1st car. My payments are less than what it would have been had I kept the XL and bought her a new car at full price.

Here is the scoop:
Basically, they shared the profit on the Blackwood with the Cougar and wrote the rest off to advertisement. I was told the reason they are giving away the Cougars is because they are bringing a new line of Cougar onboard in 2004 that will have a mustang frame so they can consolidate factory production.

He's so funny. He really bought one because he saw mine and was jealous. Thankfully, he lives on the other side of town.

Now 777... that's my story and I'm sticking to it... Though... you do have a "ring of truth" in your post as it was your Blackwood I first laid eyes on...

Thumbs up

Grateful:

Welcome to our small but merry band.

You would seem to be the third of us that bought because of "the deal", whatever the deal happened to be.
Hope you enjoy your Wood as much as the rest of us and that you keep us informed how it's doing and what you are doing to it.
Bill

Welcome. Now you guys just stay down south & let me rule the north!

BTW, didn't get to race it on Sat. Maybe in a couple of weeks, after we get back from the NMRA race. Man am I ready to see how it runs. My hubby has already made plans for a filter & he's gonna discuss w/the Diablo guys about prgrams for a chip.

Anyway, back to the topic, Welcome again.

Thanks for the Warm Welcome!

Well, Thanks for the Warm Welcome.
I'm sure I'll stay down south for a while longer but I hope to someday move up to the Bellingham or Seattle Washington area. I'm sure my Wood will be happy anywhere I go..

I'll be sure to keep you informed.

Who knows maybe we can hold a Wood Rally someday!

Ok, ok. I don't need the ENTIRE north. Just let me have Michigan & I'll be happy.

Saw my first Blackwood on the Street

Driving down Legacy Dr in Plano last night, I saw my first Lincoln Blackwood on the streets of Plano.

With all the $$ people in this town have- I'm really surprised this is the first one.

Heck, I've seen more Ferrari 550 Maranello's, and Lambo Diablo's in Plano than I have Blackwoods! And, that's no lie!

It was nice to see one on the road-

Sweet truck!

You're not kidding! I just got back from Bellingham, Washington and that was perfect weather for me.... and close to B.C. for me.
