So, are they selling?

Anybody know the sales figures on the Blackwoods, and if they are dealer duds? I have been keeping my eye out for them, but I have seen one, and only one. This was in KC where they are built. Are they really "that" rare?,,,,98

Saw one in Conyers, GA driving around. That's it - none at the dealers.

The Nov sales figures showed 31 Blackwoods sold for the month.

dont shoot me,

I actually was thinking of buying one of the Blackwoods, after I saw one at an autoshow....

It was really too expensive, and just would not provide much truck function, so I decided to forget about the Blackwood.

Thumbs down

I actually thought I'd like to have one, until I saw it at the auto show(Texas State Fair) It didn't impress me that much really. I have seen a dozen or so F-150's with the Navigator front end conversion that looked better. Sad when you think about it. Wonder if the Escalade version is doing any better?,,,,98

Saw one last night

There was one in the parking lot of my store last night. It was a dark and stormy night, couldn't get a real good look at it in other words. It was in Atlanta at the corner of 85 and Pleasant Hill road.

Hey 98 and the rest of you fellas and ladies online, ShowYa here from Kansas City. I am a member of Cal-1 the production name for the L Blackwood and I can verify this for everyone, L Blackwood is currently no longer a production vehicle, only a limited production unit, you want one, you order one, we build it in Kansas City. There has been last time I checked less than 30 actually sold and 1 in K C, 10 in MI, and something like 13 on the west coast. So there you have it, yes they are rare but now considered limited production units. You all may or not know L Blackwood was due out a year ago, so Ford/Lincoln just upgraded the options to a 2002 model, only difference was the truck mirrors which are remote when you get home at night, flip a switch and POOF they fold into the doors so you can park this in the garage, at $54,000 you better build a garage before you order a L Blackwood, huh? They list for $52,495 without Navigational and $54,500 with Navigational. Any takers, drop me an email.

ShowYa in Kansas City and YES the 2002 Harley SuperCrews are on the way too!

Hey there 98, may have been but keep in mind we all drive these things home all the time and there are many salaried folks who take these home too! I had one over Thanksgiving and went on the road for a few days! Alot of thumbs up and then you have the guys who can not figure out why I put a Navigator clip on a supercrew, LOL!! Merry Christmas to everyone on F150online from my family to yours!! I will try and round up some launch posters and if you guys want one I will try and get you one after the first of the year!

ShowYa in Kansas City, Have an awesome holiday and Happy and Safe New Year 2002 !!

They'd sell a lot more of them if they built them with 4x4 and a more functional/traditional box like the SuperCrew has.

Saw One in Chicago

I was down in Wrigleyville last Saturday night and saw a Genuine Blackwood about 5 blocks from Wrigley Field. It is the first one I have ever seen in person. As for production year, I am not positive on that. The sad thing was that it was parked on the street (where people who do not know how to parallel park are) and was in front of an old Chevy Blazer and behind a new Honda Accord! What was that guy thinking?

When the s*** was really hitting the fan around Job1, I got to drive a few Blackwoods. They have a very nice ride, wonderful interior, pretty quiet (except for the dvd navigation whine), etc.. I think the engineers found a great blend of SUV comfort with some Pick-up truck sportiness.

There's no reason to put 4x4 on this, nor make the bed more functional, it is a luxury vehicle for those who don't want a car.

I guess that's why they're so popular and somebody like me, who can afford one, ended up buying a 4x4 SuperCrew instead.

Saw another one in Cumming, GA. Pretty sharp!!! But wait - the other day I pulled up along side a new Escalade EXT. This thing is BADDDDD!!!!! Much better looking than the Avalanche (well most everything is). HUGE wheels on that sucker - looked like 22's. Just can't justify (or afford) paying $50,000 for a truck, or any other vehicle for that matter.

It's not about who can afford them as much as who wants what it has to offer.
