New to the BW club

About two months ago I picked up a rough condition Blackwood and finally joined the family. First priority is rehab the stuck open (broken) sunroof, leaking back window. Followed by some wiring repairs (rodent damage) and then addressing a transmission leak.

shes got a little over 180k miles on her, its not perfect, but its mine. Eventually the roof will need to get repainted (clear coat is sunburned, and they had some adhesive panels trying to seal up the open sunroof.

my 2018 handled it great considering the trailer was overloaded and improperly loaded

it almost fit on the trailer without needing the ramps as deck extensions. I do not recommend towing a vehicle like this!!

Possible future plans include, rebuilding the module for the power bed cover, any other needed repairs, and then likely will get a 6R80 stand alone swap

As long as it's structurally sound, everything can be repaired. It looks like it is going to be fun getting up to speed and will look great when you are finished.

I've been busy slowly rehabbing my BW, starting with the full sunroof rebuild. Here's the how-to video for anyone interested in the process

Just logged back in and seen you posted this. Don't think a better person could have saved that BW. Remote hatch still work? I've always liked these trucks. Wish they sold better.

Hahh Thanks!! The tonneau cover was mechanically unlatched when I bought the truck. I just bought a new battery for the truck yesterady, so not sure TBH. Its on my short list of things I want to test out and see what I need to diag.

I just priced out 5 tires from Discount tire yesterday, should be just under 1k price on them. Easiest decision on tires I've ever made in my life, there is only brand/model that is still made in the quirky 275/55R18 size. So I guess I'll buy Kuhmo Ecsta tires. I have heard good things about them.

I'll have to post a picture of the nonexistent cab mounts. But while I had the cab torn down I did a deep cleaning and a little insulation upgrade

No photo description available.

I also just bought my first full size truck, that’s not good at truck stuff!
Blackwood with 168K
original, except for cheesy China chromed fake lightning wheels and 275/45R20 rubber bands (gotta go!)
everything that is there works, except nav screen is damaged.
PO removed the air bags, and bump stops (without any supporting mods) so that and no sidewalls I’d rides like a floor jack!
Joined here, after stumbling across your post, to learn from your rebuild!
