2.5 or 3" front level kit for 2007 Mark LT

Hello there. I am new to this forum. I just purchased an 2007 LT and was thinking of installing a 3" front level kit. It looks easy enough...and my mechanic says he can do it pretty fast for about 120.00. Currently my rear clearance is 8 inches and the front is 5. So this would level it exactly.

My question is...have any of you done this? If so, how did it affect your ride...from stock to the present? Also, are there any concerns with the strut tower popping out or the steering linkage having too much downward play in them..since its lifted 3" up from the original position?

I was going to buy some 285/65 20" BFG All Terrains to put on there. Although, Im wondering if my want for an agressive look and big tires will over ride sensibility and driving MPG?

Thanks for the help. Also, anyone have pictures of their truck leveled?

I have a 2006 Mark LT and I put a 2.5" level kit on and that level it out. The ride is a little choppier but not bad. I also put 305/50/20 on the stock rims. They rub a little. With after market rims I've been told you can go to a 325 if you use a 22" rim without rubbing. I guess the key is the offset. I just liked the Lincoln rims...

Hind sight.. I would have put 55's on. and maybe only a 2" lift.

A 2" lift which is a 1.5" spacer seems to be the best choice, I plan on going to the bilstien 5100, since you have it all apart might as well put on new shocks for a better ride and a lift. Just my $.02

More info maybe?

How much choppier would you say it is? Of course, EAZ LIFT says that it maintains the factory ride.
I don't see how this is possible since you are extending the strut tower and there is that much more length that is exposed and leveraged. Also, your Steering part goes from being level to lifted with that much more tension on it.

I REALLY think how it is now is a smooth comfortable ride over bumps and driving down the highway. Although, I really want to lift it and put some bigger tires on it...would you say that it is worth it?

I have been looking at this.

But through EBAY its only like 70.00 for the same thing!

It says 3.0 inch and I also see 2.5 and 2.0. When I measure my space I have 8 inches in the rear and 5 inches in the front. Which makes me think I would need the 3 inch to make it level? Is the three too much for my 07?

I was told that the biggest I could go with a 3 inch....(options are limited with the 20 inch rims) are the BFG 285/65/20's. Or the Wranglers of the same size. (accomodate about 34 to 35 size tire)

I was hoping for more people who have done this and have their personal opinions about it......

I would recommend the 2.0 lift. Your not going to notice the 1 inch difference. I would stay away from the 3" lift. I put the 2.5" on FX4 and I wish I would have went with the 2". As I sit I'm about .5" high in the front and it bugs me. No one really notices it but I sure do.

Joneser or LTMARK

Can you please explain why the 3 is not the way to go? When i measure my rear space it is 8.0 inches. When I measure the front space..its 5.0 inch even. So I assumed to level it..i would need the 3" lift that ready lift advertises.
Should I go 2 because of less stress it puts on the strut tower?

You said you put a 2.5 and you can tell you are 1/2 inch higher in the front? What was the measurements before you installed it?

Do you think it would be worth it to install 285/65 20's? Right now I think I have 275/50 or 55 20's. Pirelli tires that were on it.

Thanks for your help guys. I want to pull the trigger and buy the spacer...but plan on waiting until my tires get more worn out before I replace them.

Thanks for your help. I hope I hear from you soon.
