High pitched wind noise

Hi All,

I have a 2006 MK LT and am experiencing a high (like a radio frequencies) pitch wind noise at 60+ MPH and happens all the time (except when raining) sun roof open or closed windows up or down bed cap on or off.

Has any one else experienced this problem as well???

Thanks,
Shawn

I just purchased a new F150 XLT Super Crew. I have noticed this morning on the way to work that there's a lot of wind noise coming from the upper part of the windshield. At one point it actually was whistling! Needless to say I will be calling the dealer today to see what's up with that!!!

Has anybody else had this problem? I test drove another truck and noticed wind noise on the windshield - but the salesman said it was the sales banner that was still attached across the windshield, so I didn't think much amore about it. https://www.f150online.com/forums/im...s/confused.gif

Hey yes I have had that high pitched noise from day one once i get up to around 55 or so....I complained about it once and the dealer said he could not replicate?!?! so I took it back again and said you come with me. Sure enough that time he could hear it. What he surmised was that the wiper cowl (the grate over the winshield wipers) is a 2 piece section that meets in the middle, and at highway speeds one lifts up and causes a whistle. My dealer put a ticket in to ford. (something where so many tickets have to be entered before ford comes down and tells the dealers to fix this) Okay so just last week my dealer called and said that it IS in fact the wiper cowl, and they would fix it. I would suggest taking it to the dealer and have them look in the problem database that they have about wind noise....hope this helps, cuz it sure annoyed the hell out of me.

I remember hearing this a while back, if i remember correctly in the top weather stripping, there is a small gap on the corners of the window. Just shoot some clear caulk into there. Again its been a while since i remember reading this, maybe post the question in the 04-06 forum section to see if they have heard of it.
