Blackwood Air Suspension Compressor Noise

My Blackwood has had this loud noise that sounds like it's coming from right under the navigation screen. It happens about once a month, and has happened for the last 3 years I've owned the truck. I took it to the dealer when it first happened, but they could not duplicate the problem. Then last week I had to turn off my air suspension for something and left it off for 2 days. When I finally turned the air suspension back on I heard the loud noise I had been talking about, but this time it went on for a longer time. So now I realize this must be the air compressor for the air suspension. Since I left it off for a few days it probably had to take awhile for the air to fill up again in the system.

So my question is do you other Blackwood owners hear this air suspension air compressor noise from time to time or is there something wrong with my Blackwood?

The air compressor for the susp. is up frt behind the lt headlight. What you are probably hearing is the fan motor for the rear air. There is a seperate thermostat for the rear air and a seperate duck and fan right under the nav system. the air volume door on mine started clicking a while back. it makes the door open and close constatly. very annoying. had to get a new sensor for it.

Yeah, the compressor is under the hood in front. I hear a noise every once in a while but it seems to come from the rear and seems to be the air suspension leveling. Don't know what exactly causes it but only occurs when I am carrying a load or hitch up my boat. Only lasts for a few seconds, though.

That makes sense seeing as an air conditioning compressor is mounted up neaar the front of the engine to be driven by the belt. Then the air compressor for the air suspension must be hooked up the same. So it must be a motor for the fan for the rear air suspension you think? Well, it has been happening once a month or so for 3 years. Everything still works. It only lasts a few seconds, but it is kind of annoying and when I have passengers in the car and they hear it they think I am driving a lemon or something.

There's a revised bracket/insulator kit to install on your air suspension compressor if it's noisy, although in most cases replacing the compressor is required to get all the noise out of it.
