Thanks for the help, Carmax pays for it so no problem. I noticed after I purchased mine they upped the price on their remaining BW by 3K,, LOL.
BTW, is the oil pressure guage just an "idiot guage"? I know on the Marauder, the guage was non funtioning(IE: you either had OP or you didn't) Ford has not put in a functioning guage in over 2 decades.

Interesting...I had always taken for granted that it showed actual pressure but now that I think about it, I can't seem to remember it moving along with RPM change. Bet you're right. What do we expect from these high dollar cars, high dollar equipment??

The oil pressure guage has been a real sore point among Marauder owners. One of the "selling" points of the care wa real Autometer guages. The guages are real, just not functioning. I would almost bet the Lightning doesn't have a real one either. I know the SVT mustangs did not.

Another way to get the MPG up might be to jack the truck up and pull a toyota underneath

I tried to get my wife to push but that didn't work either.
Oh, well.....C'est la vie....
I took my first road trip today, the readout said I averaged 16.5 MPG. I was pleasantly surprised. Put the cruise control at 60 MPH. and let 'er rip. I hope this is a portent of mileage to come, considering the price of petrol

I must be doing something wrong. In mixed city and highway driving over a 6 mo. period, I have never averaged over 11.0 mpg. Guess I have my foot in it too much.

Literature says 12 mpg city and 16 hwy and the are usually optimistic. Wonder how everyone else is doing.

Comments???

I bet the A/C in your climate probably has something to do with it. Right now in Indiana, A/C is something I only dream of using

Actually, I don't use air most of the time. My other cars are all ragtops. This time of year the weather is really nice.Sunny, breezy, 70's. I usually open the windows and sun roof. Only use air in the afternoon when its really hot. I think that excess lead content in my right foot is the more likely culprit. Also, the city driving . I plan to borrow a breakout box and see if there are any codes. Hard to tell if these engines are running properly. Can't even see the @#%& sparkplugs, let alone the wires and coil. I was going to try to adjust the point gap and dwell angle but couldn't figure out how. Doesn't seem natural to have an engine without even a &^%$ distributor.
