Hey Madman, want to see what yours will run in the 1/4? We have 6 spots left for our rental of Milan next weekend. I won't have mine there but it would be nice to see what other Woods are running (Bill did you ever get around to making any passes with yours?).
12,800 on Build # 512, purchased 6/1/2002 (original owner). Garage parked - still looks and smells brand spanking new.
Now that I have a better 'daily driver' (2004 F150 Fx4), the mileage on the 'wood should stay low!

Hmmmm, are just trucks racing? I wouldn't mind taking the Viper down the strip.

Well, looks like I forgot I already made plans a few weeks ago to go cruising with some guys in the Viper club on Saturday to some dyno day event. If you guys ever rent the track again let me know though. And let me know if the launch area is any better at Milan this year.
Just to chime in:
20K miles and 23 months into the life of my Wood.
Way back when, I mentioned the lack of heat/ac on the passenger side seat which still exists. Still have the staggery idle thingie which is supposed to be related to the motor mounting system and I have not tried to get that fixed.
Considering that the vehicle is a fairly complex mix of a SuperScrew with a Gator front end and motor/trannie and a really wierd cargo box with a lot of electronics involved in that part of it, I am really amazed that the vehicle just starts, runs and does what it is supposed to do every day.
We have made two trips to Nebraska, two to New York and a lot of other long trips in these two years and never a problem
As I mentioned before, Pat refuses to use her 02 Conti for the road trips. She loves the high up seating position she has in the Wood on the Interstates and she shares the driving duties more or less 40/60. And... she is the one that keeps hitting the 85 mph warning limiter on the GPS thingie.
One other point of interest: When we go to New York for the International Toy Fair, we stay at the Park Central Hotel (we get a good deal, guys) and the head concierge immediately recognizes our truck. Imagine this, he sees Lambos, Ferraris, all sort of high dollar Benzes and so forth and he remembers our truck. Same thing happens when we go to the best hotel in Lincoln Nebraska for our annual Franchise Convention (it rivals what you can get in at least Azusa, Ca.)
and the head guy there remembers the truck too. One time a year and they remember.
It is a truly interesting experience for me. Drove a Lightning for three years and thought I was on the cutting edge of "different".
Never have I had the experience like I have had with the Blackwood where someone remembers the truck when I visit a high profile hotel or whatever ONE TIME A YEAR.
Gotta Love It.

Back from the trip to Branson,MO.
Didn't get mpg that I wanted, but I have never been their before and didn't know the Ozark Mountains
were 45 to 55 MPH and up and down. I did avg. over 954 miles 17.8 MPG
I was getting 18.1 until about 100 miles from home was getting tired and let Liz drive. Her weight is 118 lbs and her right foot is 100 lbs of it.
Was a lot of construction and a head wind which didn't help out. Over all I very very happy with my WOOD.
