Killed a Silverado last night/twice

Really sort of post padding here, but a type in a current model Silverado wanted to play on my favorite 4 lane blacktop back country road last night. Truck was lowered, had wheels and a very loud exhaust. I assume a 5.7 (350) V8 with automatic.

Took off with him twice and beat him by about 2 lengths shutting down at 80. He had good wheelspin, I get a little chirp, and we were about even till I get on the cams and about to go into second gear. I think when mine chirped in second it gave him heartburn. Anyway, he was game and wanted to go again and tried to ease off a bit on takeoff (mistake) and I pulled him quicker but for some reason still was about the same distance ahead at 80.

Made my day.

Great story Bill. I LMAO at the 'chirped in second...heartburn' comment. ROFL!

RP: Thanks. Just to keep our Wood threads going, I nailed a full sized Dodge yesterday. Same type of truck as the Silverado, wheels exhaust etc. Same road actually so maybe I should hang out there more often. He was not so nice and only played once and took the next exit.
As I have said earlier, driving this truck is in many ways more exciting than the Lightning as there are so many more cars/trucks to dine on.
My usual caveat, I do not condone street racing in general but those that know Hwy120/Dallas hwy out beyond Powder Springs know it is usually empty after the rush hours and noontime traffic. Speed limit is 55, everyone drives 70 and I never go over 80 in these little encounters and always when there is no traffic around. Episodes are over in 8-9 seconds.
