At one point we owned a 70 Mustang Fastback. It had a 302, unfortunately not the Boss 302 but fun to drive none the less.

And Sal, your Mustang Cobra II brings back memories also as we owned one of those. Ours was Black with the orangy red striping.

I always liked the Boss 351 cars, heavy as hell, and yet they produced the fastest recorded time of all the Boss cars back then (I'm sure the Boss 429 times were very traction limited).

Since my Lightnings provide all the muscle I need nowadays, I've gotten back into a car I've had many of, and loved every one. It's all stock, and nothing fast, but man it sure turns heads. People flock to it at cars shows, unlike the Fox body Stangs that nobody gives a second look to anymore

Joe Palmere of Garden State Mustang has (or had) one very similiar to yours. Neat car. What happened to the auto industry after '72 was a shame thanks to OPEC. Imagine that little thing with a 70' version of the BOSS 302 or a BOSS 351 and the driveline and suspension to back it up. Bet that would be in the 12s with a tire!!

See ya'

Dan

My first Mustang was a '66 coupe with a 289. That was the first motor I ever built, the first set of heads I ever ported, and one quick little pony car when it was done. Had to take it to Michigan when I first joined the AF back in '87... it only took two winters of salt to eat it alive. I look back on that car with a lot of happiness, as there was all of one vacuum line in the engine bay (distributor advance) and the only wires were for the plugs. No computer, no power anything. Pretty much a plain engine with a sexy wrapper.
