Arrow Thinking of 02 Harley Grill

After looking at numerous grills I think I like the 02 Harley grill the best. The only problem with getting this grill is no one makes a matching lower grill for the L.

So tell me what you think of this idea? Since no one makes a matching lower I figured I would paint my 02 stock lower the same color as my truck (white) or should I paint it black. What do you guys think?

That'll look awsome
if you do it, i'd say paint the lower grille black so it doesn't stand out as much, like the 02 HD's have the black lower grille.

or you could always get the stock lower grille chromed

post pics if you go for it

You might be able to get a custom lower grille fabricated to match the HD grille that will fit inside the Lightnings larger lower valence. Good luck...and get pics up when you complete this project.

yup they are. Easier to keep up with than a true billet grille, and look just as good, and are lighter

yeah, but if he wants to put the HD upper grille on a L, what good would the smaller lower replacement grille for the HD do him?

Still can't decide on what to do with the lower. There are three options I'm considering. Which one is the best?

1. Paint lower same color as my truck (white)

2. Paint the lower black

3. Buy 2 HD grill shells and modify one to fit the lower.

What would look the best?

i think # one would look a little odd. but not sure. maybe a photoshop is needed here

#2 would look good. just like the factory 01 and up HD's\

#3 might not work. the grille is only 7 bars, with the ford oval in the middle. not sure if there is enough width above and below the grille to use it for your lower air dam. maybe have to measure it, but unless you want 2 ford ovals on the front of your truck, it might now work
it would look cool though if it worked.
good luck

A semi-ricer suggestion: remove the lower grille entirely, but add one of those cool new JDM heat exchangers first. I would rather look at a huge Fluidyne cooler over any grille.
