Arrow Sold the L

Well, I did it. After a few weeks of thinking and/or worrying, I finally decided to trade in the Lightning. It was to the point where I was more worried about losing a rod or piston than beating Vettes by more than 3 lengths. It was a GREAT truck and I really enjoyed it while I had it, but it's time to move on and UP. I traded it in last night on an '03 Phanton Gray Toyota Sequoia Limited. This thing is NICE, but it's hard to take a damn-near 50% cut in HP and TQ. Oh well...I'm still EXTREMELY pleased with the new purchase and the ability to haul more than two people. I hope whoever gets the L loves it as much as I did. Maybe in a few years I'll be able to get that Gen 1 that I've always wanted.

Y'all take it easy and don't start talking about me just yet. I'm sure I'll be popping in every few days to offer what little knowledge I have.

If you don't mind me asking, what did they give you for trade-in and how many miles did you have on it?(may have to get rid of mine also)

I had 43K miles (wanted to pull the trigger before the 50K mark) and owned it flat out (owed nothing). I got $21K and some "freebies" for my new SUV. I'm sure I could have sold it outright for more (because of all the mods), but didn't want to spend the time/effort to do so. Hope that helps.

Good luck on your new Purchase! That's a beautiful truck you have there now. I know one day i'll probably pass on the L as well and get into a bigger SUV, like a Navi or a Escalade myself

Good luck once again!

Jack

I traded it in with the mods listed. I don't/didn't have the time to pull everything (took two years to put it all on - working 12+ hour days doesn't leave much time to take them all off).

For whatever reason, they couldn't up my trade-in value much more, but they made it worth my while to just leave them on and be done with it.

Check the HALO board - I left you a message on there.

Sorry to hear that Duck, I am going through the same thing right now. I'm trying to sell mine outright because I thought I'd get raped trading it in. I'm sure you'll miss it as much as I'll miss mine. I too look forward to being able to haul more then 2 people. Good luck and don't be a stranger.

Toyota will probably develop a TRD supercharger for the sequoia anyways. That will get you some hp back

DON'T TELL ME THAT! That's part of why I'm giving up the L - I just can't resist the go-fast goodies.

Maybe it's me, but I don't think trading in your L for a TOYota is moving up

LOL! Up, meaning up in the air. I used to have a Bronco with a lift and 33 muds - I missed that vantage point after two years in the weeds.
