difference between frpp single blade TB and accufab?

what are the differences other than shine? the frpp isn't polished right...are there any differences in performance?

for those with the frpp unit, how do you like it?

thanks in advance.

check out how large the hole is, I beleive the oval of the accufab is larger, I can't remember if it was 119mm, and I'm not all to sure what the frpp size is. Not too much will be gained from a throttle body upgrade unless your upper plenum is smoothed out. You'll be looking at better throttle response, and a little extra blower whine. As far as HP gains you wont be looking at much of a difference at all between the two throttle bodies, actually stock is not so bad either, there is just restriction between the two holes, but I beleive they are both 57mm holes for 114mm total of air flow, so I guess an aftermarket throttle body get rid of that air restriction as well, maybe 6-8 hp tops. If you are interested in an accufab t/b, i've got one I can sell, its used but in great shape, only been on the truck for 3 months. shoot me an email if you are interested. whitetoast11@comcast.net

whistling noise comes with the different throttle body cause the port opening does not match the upper plenum opening and there is a small ridge which wind swirls over on accerlarion.
I actually enjoyed the noise it made and never bothered to get the machining done, however it is easy to do and can be done with a dremel even. Just match the port up with the gasket supplied and you are all set,,, very light machining really.

traction bars were not so tough to install at all, basically remove the ubolts in back and put on a new ubolt setup, make sure everything is greased down, and then the hardest part, drilling 4 holes in for each of the front brackets, (much easier then it sounds ) Time and patience is all thats required for any L mod you'd think about doing. Even the dreaded Long tube install.

I had a throttle body and Loved the way it whistled. It made my truck sound like a supercharded vehicle at just above idlewhere they dont stock. The performance gain is NOT there though. Not unless you really really have major machining done to the rest.....I sold it.expensive shiney piece of metal..

Thumbs down

Nothing! They both stick under the right circumstances. Basically Cobra T/B that aren't ready for draw through applications.

I've got an Accustick now. Looking to off it. For the $500 I paid for it, I shouldn't have to massage it weekly to prevent it from sticking.

Wait for the something else.

Jay knows what's coming .

In a few weeks there will be a new TB on the market, one that does not suffer from all the current TBs flaws, and outflows them all by a good margin.

Stay tuned for details
