Kick panels, and flip chip?

Has anyone had problems using kick panels with large component speakers and an unshielded chip?

Also does anyone carry a shielded enclosure (like the PCM) to protect the chip from the magnetism (if needed)?

I had 6.5" kick panels in my last truck and besides a slight kick once in a while I never had any problems. The grilles hold up fine. I wan't impressed with the sound though. The speakers sat to low and got muffled in my opinion.

Thanks guys, I’m looking for better dynamics and want to move the rear 2 way component speakers to the doors and the 3 way components to the kick panels… Again the concern is the chip.

Building a shield around the speakers would be tough, the Infinity speakers are large and you have to squeeze them in now. Good thought though and appreciated…

Any other ideas, is anybody running kick panels with a chip now?
