Progressive Throttle Control

Seems like this type of thing would work great on our Lightnings. Is anybody using 1?

Excuse me and please do not take this the wrong way but what do you consider a progressive throttle control item to be. It can be as simple as a human foot activating a throttle cable or as complex as the next generation of electronic/servo controlled drive by wire.

What I really want (doubt that it exists) is something like this:
1) Tripped by my brake light.
2) Allow me to have the gas peddal to the floor while I'm waiting for the light and have the engine at say 1000 RPM's.
3) When the system is tripped go immediately to say 60% throttle.
4) Over say 1.5 seconds be fully transitioned linerarly to full throttle.
5) Be easy to adjust all of these parameters.
6) Cheap.

Just seems to me that with all of the torque that the Lightning puts out this would really help to get it hooked up, give excellent 60 ft times, and consistent ET's.

It sounds like what you want is a delay box. You shoud check out a company like Deadenbear.

huh...

So the idea would be to try and take the skill/error out of launching? I get nervous when we talk about the throttle being fly by wire. I kinda like the whole cable thing....

The main idea is to get traction on F1's on a poorly prepped track. The more that I read the more confused I got. Seems more like a throttle stop is what I need.

My initial thought was to put a spring on the throttle so that at least I could feel resistance before it's floored. Just seems that today something better than a spring would be cool. I don't want anything to "read off the tree", crossover, etc. Maybe like a dampner inline with the throttle cable. Maybe I just don't understand the delay box.

Re: huh...

Why not just keep practicing until you get launching down??? Practice makes perfect .

My GTI has an electronic throttle. I hate it.

Redneck,
Thanks for the link. I forgot all about that post. Seems a little expensive, but may be worth it.

So who is using the Racelogic system on their Lightning?

If you part throttle the truck for more than about a second, it short shifts to the next gear. Then what???
