stock pulley installation

ok,, throwing my stock pulley back on for winter driving and I have a few questions,, first is it supposed to be hard to turn (counterclockwise threads) and also,,,, how tight do we need to screw in the pulley, i'm having issues as I can get it to were its good and easy to thread till about 3/4 of the way, then tighten it the rest of the way, but when I tighten the pulley in the rest of the way, the pulley itself rubs against its cage on one of its legs. I need install tips and help,,,, its cold out and I hate laying down on my back like that in the cold.

Rusted,

Obvious question, did you removed the nuts that retain the hose guards? You might have left them on there if your runnign an uncaged pulley. If so it will make it about 3/4 of the way down and get hard quick. THe Hub needs to be completely flush with the dampners recieving end.

ANyway check to make sure those hose guard bolts are out and the bar out of the way on both lower bolts...

Question

Man, I d/k what to say as to being hard to seat it and then it rubs on a cage leg??? I seem to remember a torque value of 100-140 ft. lbs. but that's no help with the pulley or cage off-center.

Anyway, this will take it to the top for someone else to see.
