Anyone heard a lightning with 1 chamber flowmasters
Yes i have also. I heard a L with Bassani long tubes high flow cats and Bassani cat back. It did sound great. I just dont like getting the samething that everyone else has. I think the 1 chamber flows would sound great, but at 75 bucks a piece i want to make sure thats what i want.
He doesnt care about the bassani!!!!!!!! or is like me and cannot afford it now....besides i think the bassani c/b has too much of a nasty rasp sound to it. Flowmasters have been the best sounding i have heard so far. As for performance issues I'm sure noone knows for sure so I wont even go there.

I had dual 40 series on mine for a while and they sounded very good until you floored it. Wet floppy sounds. As far as performance, some people do know the answer to that question. Others just don't want to hear it, or believe it. People should either search the site for answers, or experiment on their own. It costs more to put a crappy system on and then replace it.......... I know all to well. I haven't heard the Bassani on an L yet; but, they have sounded kind of raspy, or artificial, on the other vehicles I've heard them on.
A muffler is not gonna make or break a truck. Im going for sound, and ya i cant afford the bassani right yet. Id rather get a 4 lower and FT valve body and a chip than spend all that money on a catback right now.
Being a big block fan myself I first chose the flowmaster for my mustang and loved it so I didn't take this news all too well. After talking to a countless number of tuners about the subject trying to get a straight answer it has become apparent that FLOWMASTER has "dropped the ball" with their exhaust systems. What was good 5 years ago no longer applies with most cars/trucks, and the back-pressure issues do actually apply to this problem. For some reason the flowmaster mufflers just don't get the job done anymore, even though they do sound damn good, they just don't do the job. I'm sticking with my stock exhaust untill I can afford the bassani or spin-tech cat back system
I thought it sounded good(bassani), but my brother brought it to my attention, and i agreed it sounds kinda like an ol' farm truck. Its kinda like a mild glass pack sound. Im looking for a deep sound like having dumps, but i dont want dumps. I thought that the 1 chamber flows will sound good. Ive heard them on a stang and it is deep at idle and light throttle and it screams at WOT. Dont get me wrong the Bassani sound good, just not 600.00 good.
I know you wont believe me but anybody that has heard Lightnings with no muffler at all will appriciate what im gonna say.I and a few people I know cut the muffler right off and put in 2 strait pipes. It sounds AWESOME. Its not as loud as you would expect and it has a true performance sound.Although it is loud,It sounds like what the truuck should sound like.I more thing.NOBODY has claimed that exhaust has made more power.Everybody knows there is NO gain until you really mod your truck.I knocked off 2 tenths will strait pipes on mt L and so engine light ever!!
