Questions about launches...
I wont be running for a few months...but Ill ask now while Im thinking of it. I havent yet been to the track with my 01L, but what type of launch techniques have you guys been using? What rpm and pressure on the stock tires...Ive heard conflicting stories here about the Drive/OD topic...so anyone with the time--feel free to chime in on this one too. Thanks for the help!

First thing I can say with 100% assurance is that track prep is going to play THE BIGGEST factor when launching on F1s. Myself and two other people from here proved that last weekend at Atco here in NJ. We were all Englishtown racers and this was the first time any of us launched at Atco in our Ls. All of us achieved 1.8xx 60's on F1s.
I think we were all pretty much in synch with our launch techniques. Rear tires @ 29-31 psi. Nice burnout to heat the tires up. You have to at Atco because there's no way around the water box. O/D off. Stage. Roll out at idle and nail it.
Now back to the track prep comment. I tried this technique at E-Town in the dead of Summer and netted a best of 2.12 60'. After cutting a 1.874 60' in 45 degree temps on 50% treaded F1s, I'd say Atco was prepped VERY WELL.
Some people will disagree with coming out at idle. Everyone has their preference for what works for them. But if you're track is prepped as bad as E-Town, you're gonna have a hard time cutting sub 2xx 60s.
Good luck when you finally run!!

I totally agree with coming out AT IDLE (or very near idle with stock converter and tires)
Also may depend on mods. less mods may benefit from a slightly higher launch say 1200?
Its best to experiment and practice ALOT, since your truck and your track and many other different variables are different than mine.
But anyway, launching from idle on 32psi F1's I have gotten as low as 1.78 60ft.
good luck and try to get to the track early so you can make as many runs as possible before the track gets too crowded. practice practice.
