Question #4 pulley to #6 ?????

I have noticed many of you have the #6 on your L's. When i installed my #4 earlier this year, what a nice surprise. What can i expect if i upgrade to #6???? Will i see a nice increase in Dyno #'s and much difference out of the hole??? Also, will it be ok as a daily driver?? I am happy with overall #'s so far from truck, but think i could have better torque #'s so far from mods that i have. Thanks for any help, Greg

I noticed the difference coming back down from 6 lb's to 4lbs.
Biggest difference with the 6lbs is the boost comes on earlier and at alot less throttle. I actually like the 4 better for the street because I can give it more throttle without constanly runing 10-15 lbs of boost. But in the spring I will run the 6 lb's for the track days since I have a Dial-Ur-Boost upper pulley and can switch it in less than 5 minutes. Just realize 6lbs instead of 4lbs
MEANS A LOT MORE HEAT, A LOT MORE OFTEN on your plugs.

Thanks blown318. I looked found some specs on JDM site about 2,4,6#'s. Looks like the biggest notice was me putting the #4 on in the first place, another couple of #'s like you said will be notice most out of hole. I just hope it is noticeable, if you know what i mean. Thanks again. Greg

Good point about the heat Rob, didn't think about that. Since it is interchangeable, just using #6 at track might be better. Did the 6 help much on times at track?? Also, i have a pinion snubber but was thinking of getting traction bars too, did they help alot with F1's??? thanks

Botter, Don't ever forget about the heat, Most will tell you 4lbs is the Safe Limit for "most of us" running TR-6's, once you go to 6lbs you should run BR-7's, or Denso IT-22's to be safer, they are colder and will help you not burn plugs.

As for the ET's, to be honest the best time I've had is with the 4lb Lower @ 12.8. But unfortunatly the entire summer when I ran the 6-7 lbs of Pulley I had a fuel delivery problem and kept bogging down at the end of my runs. For the spring I'll be running a higher fuel pressure and possibaly two hi performance pumps to assure that doesn't happen and hope to see low 12's with the 6-7 lbs of Pulley.

I do feel it's safer and all around a better street machine running 4 lbs. With 6-7 I roast the tires hundreds of ft when launching on the street and am constantly running up to 15 lbs of boost. NO NEED FOR THAT ON THE STREET.

I didn't think I would notice my 2lb upper when I added that to my 4lb lower, but I was wrong. I noticed it allot.

Thanks fellas for your input about the 6#. I think i will stay put for awhile and try a few other mods before i bump it up on the pulley. Heck, i'm still running original plugs in mine and have 16,500 miles. My tuner recommended Denso IT 20's instead of 22. I felt it would be a nice winter project, ha ha. Thanks again, Greg
