Question Tuners Question

When you place a wide band in the exhaust do you remove one of the O2 sensors and which one? the one before the cats or after.I would think before because fo the effects that the cats have on the exhaust.and also since you remove one does that change how the engine is running since the computer is only using 1 of the sensors and not 2.Thanks Stan

The best thing to do is weld an extra bung in, but if you just want to remove an O2, then it's the upstream drivers side that gets used. If you are tuning on the dyno and just doing WOT pulls, then there is no adverse affect. If you are going to be driving the truck, then it will affect the fuel trims because there will be no drivers side signal for the PCM to read in closed loop.

Thanks Sal.I welded a set of bungs infront of the converters when I did the exhaust,so I was sure that I was set. Also forgot that the truck runs open loop at wot so the O2s aren't being used anyway.Stan

Put mine in the collector on the drivers side. I have heard that the drivers side tends to run a liitle leaner than the other. Any thoughts or knowledge of this???
