Ever get upset with you guys when it comes time to buy mods for our trucks? Just tonight my fiancee saw an email where i was askin about some slicks and boom she was pissed....that i was gonna spend some $ on slicks. I am always honest with her on what i am planning on doin for the L... I am police officer and work 2 diff jobs on the side for spending $..Am I being selfish in taking that $ and putting it towards my truck? Oh yeah i am paying for wedding/honeymoon in Jamaica in March...just venting

 

My girl supports my mods and my love to mod anything i own. I couldnt be any luckier in that respect. Hell, she sends me off to the track every 3 weeks to get away and relax.

 

Considering my fiance ran an 11.87@112 in the L ,NO, I do not have ANY problems buying mods.
Now when it comes to doing the leaves , thats different story.

As the wife, I only get upset when he buys mods without discussing it with me first. I usually end up letting him get them anyways. And no, he doesn't buy anything behind my back because Sue knows to check with me before she can charge his credit card on big purchases.

 

My wife doesn't like me to buy extra toys unless all the bills are paid and she has been sent to go shopping. Then I buy it and ask for forgiveness later. BUT the truck I am modding is her daily driver so, she doesn't say to much.

 

I know that your fellow officers will turn a blind eye to questionable mods on your truck but, don't you think slicks are pushing it just a bit?

 

For some reason this reminds me of an old joke, "What do you tell a women with two black eyes?" Nothing, she's already been told twice

 

My wife gets pissed when I talk about buying mods for my truck.. She wants me to "grow out" of this phase I'm in. But I'm 27 and been married for four years and just don't think that I will ever grow out of my hobbies.

Just remember: its better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

 

I don't have a Lightning yet as I'm ordering an 03 next month. However, my g/f gets mad whenever I talk about modding it. Even if it is a $50 mod she is getting upset. I think she's afraid I'll dump an extra $15,000 into it like I did with my Vobra. They just get worried we'll spend all our money on our cars and trucks and not save for a house etc. So just reassure her that you are saving money (even if you're not) hehe and you know what you're doing. Or, do like I do and try to sneak things by her.

 

My wife fully encourages me to buy stuff especially for the truck. She talked me into ordering the drop kit and a few other goodies, heck, she's the reason I have a L, she wanted me to get it!

I bet some of your wives wouldnt mind if you paid $5,000 for a new TOP END on her .....

I don't have any problems myself.. It gets easier the longer you are married.... But of course I don't tell her how much im spending ... Lmaoo

exact same situation w/ me. my wife saw some new emails for a stroker motor for my banshee and some sand paddles, then she saw my lightning mod email file... we had a little "altercation".

she just wants me to discuss it with her 1st...chris

 

Well my girl gets a little upset now when I do buy toys, but she's not that bad. I can't blame her cause I am a little extreme for only being 21, HEHEHEHEHE.

 

That only works if she doesn't pay the bills (write the checks) or look at the mail when it comes in.
