Temp variation to warrent getting a flipchip?
To all those tuners out there: How much can the temperature fluctuate before a tune is "unsafe" for the conditions? With more and more blown plugs and such this question came to my mind. We should have a hot and cold weather tune but at what temps does it get to cold for the hot tune and vice versa?
Your tuner will depend on when you need to switch over. I have mine setup so around 55deg I need to switch to the cold side. If you have a mild street you may be ok with only one program, its all in how the tune is. The goal of a multi-program chip is to have a tune at any time for the cituation at hand.
When I ran JLP chips I had a mild street tune and a race chip, the street tune was good up until about 30deg OA, I would get aittle ping below that, but that was my year round chip.
If you want to run at PEAK performance year round, you will need a mutil program chip, multiple single chips, one chip with alot of reburns, or one chip and buy the burning software for it. Which route you choose is up to you....
