Pinion Angle SHim on 3.- to 4.5 rear drop?

Gonna install the Roush 3-3.5 drop this week. I plan to leave the Drop shackels on and to to total of 3.5 or 4.5 which ever levels the truck the most. I was under it today and notice I have a front pinion seal leak. I dropped the back already with the 2" shackels.
The Roush kit spec's are for the factory rear shackels. I want to get nice and level so I'm thinking uses the 2" drop shackels with the Roush 3.5 drop leafs will do the trick.

My only concern is with the pinion angle @ +- 3.5 OR 4.5.

Could someone please advise on pinion shim sizes I may want/need to have on hand for this install.

What is optimum pinion angle for reliability and launch?

pawn said he has not had to install any shims on his truck with the Roush drop but I don't recall him using any drop shackels on his ride....

Thanks ..Jeff

With a Bell Tech 3/4 kit you get 4deg shims. I have 6deg added to mine to make the pinion angle where I want with my drop kit. I would say you need somewhere between 4-6 deg shims...

I've got a question also. I installed some 2 inch drop shackles and I am going to be removing the second leaf spring up from the bottom which will drop it another inch. Does anybody think I will need to put in shims.
Thanks

Your gonna remove a leaf from the rear? That may lead to cracking or overstressing the remaining leafs...I would check into that a little more before I did that.

Actually I did that to my other 99 and it seemed to be fine. I got the idea from Razors Edge, they did it to theirs. It lowers the rear another inch or so and actually gives a softer ride.

I've posted the same comment on several different threads with the same topic. Measure the angle(s), then correct it.
