Talking I got the new truck.

I picked up the new 02 true blue on Friday night. I don't have any good shots of it as the snow hit this weekend... same thing happened when I purchased my '99 three years ago. Better shots to follow once the weather clears.

The red '99 I had went to some wonderful people in Florida. They will take great care of it... all I want to see is a picture of it next to a palm tree

thanks guys. the ride home on friday night with it wasn't too bad - the roads were dry. i hopped on it once to make sure the trans. shifted properly, and that it didn't have a miss. it doesn't pull in any direction, and is very smooth.... just can't get used to the quiet exhaust / supercharger whine.... hello air force one kit and brand X exhaust.... still unsure there.
the truck handles so much better, and runs quite a bit better... i am very impressed.
by the way, my first modification was ripping off the front plate holder

Im going to have my bumper smoothed where those damn holes are for the plate. Maybe a good time to adapt some 01 fog lights into it since it will need to be painted again anyhow.

was your other truck an L? what all was wrong with it?

the truck i sold was a '99 red L. it drew far too much attention, and i also wanted something different. i have seen only one other true blue in these parts... makes me sound like i'm from the country...
the red one had 41,000 miles on it - mainly me traveling back and forth from college in michigan. it had it's quirks, and i also wanted to make quite a few modifications to get it up to the 01-02 status. this new one was a good deal, and i am glad that i did it.

If I didnt llike white so much I would have done a red one probably. Im really digging the fact that when I wash my truck it now looks clean no matter what. I used to spend hours on my last black f-150 cleaning ,waxing, and trying to remove the swirls to no avail. How is the dark blue? I would think it would be a swirl magnet as well.

I have always been able to keep swirl marks out of the paint on my dark vehicles. The trick is to use a soft cloth and NEVER USE A SWIRLING MOTION. I really like the dark blue - it's a very dark blue that reminds me of the blue I had on my '93 LX 5.0. I like it - it's different.
