parking light/fog light question

i want to be able to turn my fog lights on with the parking lighs?
I am trying to figure out how you splice the #2 and the # 12 together? Do you just peel some insulation pack from each and run a wire from one to another? I am assuming that they need to stay connected to the switch???
thanks for your help.

Get some of those wire tap things, they will let you slide 2 wires in them and then you close it, it will connect the 2 wires, and yes they need to stay in the switch.

I don't think theres anything wrong with it. I wonder what the actual reason for that it? Myself and almost everyone here has done this and no problems that i know of.
