Im pretty sure that last year TOTALED went from 11.80's to a 11.69 when he went to the FAST air kit. Thats what I was talking about. Seems like alot of easily hurt ego's with all these built motor & new blower people. Maybe its because they have spent so much money and not gained to much? hmmm why is that?

Sorry that you all have spent a ton of money for nothing. If it all works so well why call other tuners asking to buy NX kits?

I guess it doesn't matter what my times are with my big open air box......bottom line is, the air box isn't whats holdin my truck back the supercharger is.
Since you asked, the numbers are below......what do you think it will run when I get my screwcharger and a decent tune?

Regardless of who has a better blower..... THE TIMES ARE WHAT THEY ARE!!!!!! I mean I highly doubt the money was spent for no reason.... and I am pretty sure there was a gain.......

I think JL's box is built somewhat tight for a reason. With the two air intakes grafted to the bottom and fender end, it's designed to pull air from below the vehicle via the two air tubes that make up the "ram air" kit.

I think you'll go 10's w/ a built motor, low 11's w/o. The blower will take you as fast as you want to go, but running too much boost w/o a built bottom end is asking for trouble.

Tim: We apoligize for the problem your having. We will Gladly refund your Full Purchase price..We will in the future have the filter flange on an angle to help with this problem.we simply just havn't had any complaints about this. but i assure you we will address the problem and have it taken care of...
Thanx to everyone who gave some very helpful input to try and help with this matter. As far as me trying to defend our kit against the *others* i won't even go there..all i know we have sold very close to 3 thousand kits and that's enough proof for me! JL

And you actually believe that TOTALED gained 25 rwhp by switching kits?

There is ZERO hp differences between those two kits.

I never had any doubt that you would take care of any issues I had, JLP. As I previously stated, "It's not a big deal and I have no intent to flame JLP. . . . My post was not designed to vent, but to solicit information which might be useful in further defining or solving the problem."

The box looks great, and, as I previously stated, the fit and finish is excellent. JLP promptly sent me an e-mail offering to do what it takes to make me happy. I never had any doubt that JLP were good people.

Apparently I am the only one out of 3,000 purchasers who was disappointed with the filter element fit. As an unashamed perfectionist, my concern does not seem unreasonable to me, but I guess the statistics suggest otherwise. It does not appear that this issue will prevent the product from performing as advertised. Color me an overly picky *sshole, I guess.

Thanks to everyone for the input and suggestions.

And Sal, although I realize you were just kidding around, your comments really added a dimension to this post what I did not intend, turning this into some JLP roast.

And it's trap speed, not ET, which is the best reflection of horsepower.

My apologies to you Tim, as well as JL (whom I spoke to tonight). I did not intend my comment to turn this into a X vs Y type thing. Every now and then I forget how sensative this board is, and how easy it is to get shot in the head for an innocent post. My mistake, and my apologies.

Spoken like a true gentleman, Sal.

I am also amazed at the sensitivity shown by some. I post a request for assistance, using nothing but completely truthful and accurate information, and everyone assumes that I have some axe to grind with JLP.

Nothing could be further from the truth. If there is a "tuner war" going on, count me out. I have no agenda--just want my truck the best it can be. All other considerations are a distant second.
