I recomend the Jet Hot Coated headers with Dual Mufflers, it is bad to the bone.

It is what I have and it is awesome.

Vinnie didn't post it, but the full system also includes two high flow cats.

GREAT setup...but be warned. My credit card was charged 10 WEEKS before I received the product. I got a few "it's shipping this week" replies from them when I called to expedite, so if you're looking for your exhaust in a hurry, take note.

Bottom line, though...I WOULD DEFINITELY order this system again...quality setup like no other.

Let's see, $1,900 for an exhaust that will give you (and I'm just guessing here), 20 HP. Does this really make sense when huge HP gains (50-100 HP) are available from a Kenne Bell or Whipple upgrade for $3,000?

I know that this option was not available when you guys got yours, and I don't mean to insult anyone who has bought the system, but from a price/performance standpoint, it doesn't seem like it's even a fair fight.

True, and from price - performance standpoint I think you're right, it's not really worth it.

But ...

Better sound + LT's look better then stock manifold + power increase =

I see where your coming from but in my opinion a new blower is NOT $3,000 but more like $10,000 if DONE RIGHT.Now before everybody gets all bent,Let me explain.
Yes ,you can just throw the blower on an OEM motor but eventually you will want to use the power of the blower. That means a Built shortblock($5,000 installed). Then (again ,I am talking about doing it right) you will need a Monster box($1,800 uninstallled). That is the minimum.
What about Bigger injectors, bigger fuel pumps, roll cage(not required) ....etc.
It does not stop.
Can you throw the KB on a stock motor and get an extra 50 h.p. and not do a thing ,Sure.I am willing to bet that not a lot of guys are going to do that.
Just my humble opinion.

BTW-Don't get me wrong here . I would like a new KB blower also.I just think that it is the last thing that will go on ,not the first.
Charlie did it right. He built the truck up first and THEN added the blower for his eventual 10 second run.IMHO -that is the way to do it.

Umm, I beg to differ. Some of us don't have the bank account, err I mean have the willpower to keep the power at sane levels.

But yes the blower should be on of the last things to do.

Blower

Just put on a Kenne Bell, Chip Throttlebody, and filter. You will make 425 rwhp on 91 octane pump gas. More power is just a smaller pulley away. It is an unreal street combo that will live on a stock engine. I believe it should be one of the first mods. It is just too easy. Skip

I agree with Skip. If I only had 4-5K to use to mod the truck you might as well get the KB, chip, filter, traction bars, transmission valve body, drive shaft loop and you would be set.

edit: I'm not saying I don't like the JDM full system. It sounds good and should get you more horsepower with more mods. I also have one on my truck.

Im not doing it for the power. I want the sound. I have a 96gt that is putting out 18 psi of boost and has p&p heads with custom cams and all the forged internals. It also has a full cage and is street legal. It put down 480rwhp. Im not gonna put many things on the L, mainly just cosmetic things. I just want a better sounding exahust.

stang,

If that is the kind of sound you are looking for than you will not be disappointed with our system. You ARE going to feel a huge improvement in performance especially at higher RPM's.

Why? The Eaton is out of steam stock. Why not upgrade to a true compressor as the FIRST mod? Makes more sense to me than playing around with a chip or pullies. At least with a KB or Whipple and stock everything else, I will not worry every time I press the go pedal.

I'm with you all the way, Skip--except for the chip. Running 100 octane, the KB made 522 HP with a stock chip. I would install the KB and get down to a dyno. If the a/f levels were still safe and there was no detonation on 91 octance, I would Skip the chip.

And I would like to see data proving that a throttle body is really beneficial at 425 HP airflow levels before spending that $450. I''m thinking that the same $450 would buy that new monster JDM heat exchanger instead!
