Question Tranny Trouble - Blinking OverDrive light?

Decided to take my truck out today since the weather has been pretty dry lately. Got on the highway and I noticed the OD light on the shifter was blinking. I came up to a stop light. When I started going again, giving it very little gas, the shift between 1-2 and 2-3 was VERY jerky and I could hear a slight knock. Then the shift into OD was normal. Came to another stop light. Started going again, same thing.

Got home and checked the fluid. Fine.

What could be the problem? Has anyone run into this before?

The tranny is in limp mode and has written an error code to the PCM, the line pressure has defaulted to MAX to save the clutches until you get it to a dealer to read the codes.

Get a hold of NCETRY, I hear he's got an obdII scanner. Cheaper than the dealer.

Look in the alaska motorsports forums, if you haven't seen it already.

Post Fuse?

Check the 15 amp fuse (blue)at the front of the engine fuse box. If I remeber correctly there are two at the front check them both.
If one is blown you have a short in your Transmission harness/ o2 wiring....
Good Luck,
Graeme

Tundra

Hey whats the URL for the alaska motorsports forum? Did a google search and all I came up with was Satch Carlson. SVTinAk,
Tundra's idea might save you some mod removal work if it turns out to be something electrical.
