Warrenty & pulley/chip

How many of yall have gotten warrenty work done while having a pulley/chip (removed im sure)

Also how many have needed to go in for work that needed these items removed?

I have avery mild chip for my truck (hoping to improve gas miledge and fun factor) and still haven't really installed it.

I don't remove mine. Of course I haven't had any problems with the engine either...

yep me and the dealership are on good terms...you treat them with respect and they seem to not really hassle you that much. i haven't had any engine work done however but i brought up the magnusson moss act once and they all agreed that...if i chipped it and the ac pump goes out...it's warranty time!...

plus i've gotten to know the techs pretty well and any warranty work we do i try to help them out as much as i can....lessen their work and slip them some beer money....

you gotta know how to work it.

P.S.
this is coming from a guy who just got out of a 131 dollar cell phone bill because he could and has had free internet from verizon for 4 months going on 5...AND got them to pay me 100 bucks...(because i f*cked up!)

Diplomacy yep that’s the ticket! My dealership is SVT friendly they have 2 tech's that race. Matter of fact we often swap racing stories.

I don't pull any of my stuff........all the service manager asks is that I be straight with him when I add anything new, and be reasonable if something breaks. So far, three SVT vehicles with mods on all of them and I've never had a claim denied by his shop.

My dealer never gives me any hassle, but I've never had a serious problem except for a blown transmission (ironic, ain't it?)
and on that one they pretty much conceded that I knew more about it than them and if it really was my fault I would've just rebuilt it myself (which I have also done).

Also, I really don't have many mods outside the tranny, which is done pretty much for R&D for me. After the stock one blew on my 2000, I've had some fairly exotic tranny stuff (how about a 4R100 that only weighs 116 lbs) but other than that my filter and very mild chip are about it. I take it to the track once every year. the rest of it is daily driver stuff.

Of course, I bought two cars from this dealer last year, and spent about $80,000 at the parts counter.

Question Calif. Switching to Ethanol vs. MTBE

Most of California's major refiners plan to switch pollution-reducing fuel additives early next year from MTBE to ethanol.
Is this going to affect our L's performance

"The amount of ethanol required to oxygenate gasoline so that it burns more cleanly is less than the MTBE that is being replaced so the difference must be made up with gasoline. "
