Question 4r100 holding up well with mods?

I posted this in the HD section but the guys over there said I would get more response here. I'm thinking about getting a 02HD and modding it to get in the mid 13's. How is this tranny (in stock form with shift kit) holding up to abuse? Both trucks use the exact same tranny, right?

Well its going to hold up decent with just enough mods to get you there, but I doubt you make it 30K if you drive it hard like I do.

definetly get a FT shift kit and keep you line pressure down on the tranny if you want it to hold up. But when you think about it, a new FT monster box isn't that much money for what you get out of it. so worst case you spend about 1700 bucks on a rebuilt one that you won't have trouble with.

I went threw my share of stock trannies and I'm using a FT tranny and its worth every penny!

Thumbs up Tranny

36K on the clock and still modding...add the 4X4 tranny pan and filter and use either royal purple or Mobil1 ATF.
Level 10 shift kit here...break em loose hitting 3rd...whatta rush to feel the back end slide around at 80 MPH

Mine will hold about 50% more toque than that and thogh it costs more, it's a transmission not jsut a box of (mostly stock) parts.

$3300 for WHAT? The trans is like $1200-1400 from Ford, and maybe 3 hours TOPS labor in a 2wd pickup.

List price on a stock 4R100 5X model (01 and 02 Lightning) is $2165, a Monster Box is $1995, both with exchange.
