Unless I am losing my mind here, I could have sworn you shot a rod out of your oil pan on an earlier thread.

Still shopping for the great deals I see. Or are you thinking you can throw the 99 puter in there and try to fool Ford out of an engine.

Do what ya want young man, but what your doing is stealing...plain and simple.

Thumbs down JRocksSVT

No, it won't work.
CUX1 vs CXN2???
Even if/when you find an unmolested spare PCM, you have to have it programed for a little thing called PATS....

You'll need a dealer to reflash it for the PATS system. I think you'll just need to eat this one .

not sure

What you are really unsure of is how to save your a$$ crack on this one...at this point, I wouldn't even try...I would go out on a limb and say that they probably have your number by now, and far smarter have tried the game before you and lost...deal with the hickey and move on...at any given moment it could have been (will be) any of us.
There has been far too much hype on this for it to slip under the door at any dealership (repair house).

Yep, it sucks, no question about it...shoulda/woulda/coulda games now
Spend your money building it up to be stronger when it comes back rather than taking another gamble that you will buy and change all the right parts and pull one off...ain't gonna happen!

I ain't believing this.

I think I am figuring out why Ford is always acting so paranoid on even legit warranty claims.

A special thank you to those that make it hard on the honest folks with honest problems

So, when this young man decides that it is OK to be crooked if it suites him and steal a motor or car part from you...is it still OK?

Yes you can use a 99PCM in your 2001. The key is to have someone with the FORD tool to set it up. There are a few of the "FASTER" trucks not running a same year PCM as their year truck. Talk with your TUNER about it, he can tell you why this is.

I guess I'm lucky having a mod friendly dealership, but maybe they're only friendly because I work there I should ask sometime

Ford will never catch on with a 4 yr old PCM in a 2001 truck
