Final Race Of The Year

Well, I ran the final run at my 1/8 tracl this year. I ran in both Street Stock and No Electronics Jackpot, a feat only attempted by a few and those that did never won either. Since I had new Hoosier DOT tires I could run both. I won the first four Street Stocks of the year before switching to the Hoosier Slicks but I just got the Hoosier DOts so I decided to run both. Well, the DOTs get exactly the same 60s as the slicks so I didn't give up anything there. I won both races, a feat never accomplished before at my track. They even announced it over the PA system. It was something. A trophy and cash. I was running JDM mods and as PSP chip. Thanks Jim and Sal for all your help. My JDM chip had not been moded for my 2400 stall torque converter. I ran .07 on my hot lap runs from SS to Jackpot. My truck has over 76000 miles and over 1700 passes. I overhauled the tranny about a month ago although it was not acting bad. The truck ran RIGHT ON MY DIAL every time. Thanks both JIM AND SAL for all your good stuff.

Jeff, you don't NEED a reburn for a converter, but there are things that can be adjusted when using one.

Jeff, when I installed my new stall, from a local shop here in Houston, a 2400, when I rebuilt my tranny last month my RTs went up from .50s to .60s. I was not happy. With Sals reburn my lites have gone down in the mid .55 and with a 1" bump in they are at .50. If I had it to do over again I would put the stock stall back in because it DOES NOT SLIP. Increased line pressure, in my opinion is a must with a stall converter. I do NOT think a stall is a good mod for a bracket racer. Yea, your 60's go down but so what. Just my thoughts.
