How much boost can a Lightning safely handle???

I'm going to order an 03 Lightning at the first of the year. How much boost can these motors SAFELY handle with a good tune? I have a 96 Cobra with a Vortech S-trim that I'm only running 8#'s because I want to be somewhat safe. With the somewhat built motor of the Lightning could I easily run 12#'s? Or will I need a built lower end first?

Thanks,
Pete

Iculokin basically is correct. Its all in the tuning. The engine can handle 16-18 lbs total safely with proper tuning . The supercharger I believe can spin up around 17,672 rpm's. This is at an engine speed of 5,400 rpms, all with a 6 Lb lower and a 2.75 inch upper(2 lbs) This is pretty much what the "experts" say is above the maximum rpm recommended by Eaton.I know several lightning running this combo with no ill effects...and they all run like a raped ape! Its all in the proper fuel and timing tuning of the chip.

Bah...they only roll like that in the summer....ask most of them where their trucks are at in Mid-Dec thru March

When you can still roll with your windows down in the Florida sun they are freezing their a$$es off and driving their Escort Wagons

Gotta love Florida
