Timing, how much? Race gas, How much?

Hey Guys,

I currently have a REM switch chip that is setup with 4# and 6# street tuneups.

I currently have the 6# pulley on the truck and have ran a best of 8.01@85.3 with the 6# street tuneup. I was considering running the 4# tune with the 6# pulley on racegas, Paul said this would be ok.

I was wanting to know what kind of racegas and how much you run on your race programs? I have had a Street Renegade Mustang for they last three years and all I ever ran was C16 (116 octane).

I was also curious of the total timing that your running and if you know if the tuner is adding fuel along with and extra timing over stock.

Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated.

Hey Allen,
I always make sure I arrive at the track at empty or below. I but 4-5 gallons of 100 octane unleaded in the tank from the pumps at the track. $4 a gallon I think. I think that this puts me at the 98 octane range. Not knowing exactly how much gas is in the tank makes the math kind of fuzzy but it's around 98 octane. Which is what octane Sal recommends for his race program.

BTW, I finally broke into the 7.5s last weekend. Ran a 7.58 followed by a 7.55.

Congrats on the new time, that is awesome.

Are you going to be out tomorrow night?

BTW, I think I am going to order a set of slick, I just can decide which wheels.

Thanks. Yep, I am going to the track tomorrow. Not sure if I'm going to run the Lightning or the Vette though.

Slicks are great. You should definitely do it. I'd go with the 26" ET Streets to get the higher gear effect. Which wheels is a tougher decision, all depends on how much cash you want to spend I guess. I've been looking at getting some skinnies for the front recently. I can't decide which wheels either.

Have you installed a nitrous system yet? I finally got all the pieces for my hybrid system. Hope to install it this weekend.

I have not gotten the kit on yet, I think I am going to sell my 2 Dry kits and buy a Wet kit.

As far as wheels I am leaning toward the Weld XP Prostars.

My chip was programmed for a wet kit so it was easy for me to decide on a wet system . From what I hear though that is the way to go.

I like the Welds a lot. They would look great on your truck.
